CLAT 2019: Exam date rescheduled to May 26 due to Lok Sabha elections, Last date to apply extended to April 15
CLAT 2019 Exam has been rescheduled to 26th May 2019 by the exam conducting agency i.e. CLAT Consortium, to avoid clash with upcoming Lok Sabha election 2019.
The CLAT 2019 exam will now be held in offline (pen and paper) mode on 26th May 2019 between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM.
Earlier as per the official notification, the CLAT 2019 was scheduled to be held on 12th May 2019 which coincided with the Phase 6 of the Lok Sabha Election 2019. The states that would be going to polls on May 12 are: Bihar, Haryana, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Delhi-NCR. The CLAT 2019 exam has been rescheduled to avoid this clash.
The last date to apply online for the exam has also be extended to April 15. Earlier, the last date to apply for the exam was March 31.
Candidates can apply for CLAT 2019 exam online at the new website of CLAT clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in.
CLAT 2019 or the Common Law Admission Test is a national-level entrance exam which is held to screen law aspirants from across India for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by 21 National Law Universities.
CLAT 2019 exam will be in offline mode. The UG paper of CLAT 2019 will be out of 200 marks, and candidates will be tested on English (40 marks), General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 marks), Mathematics (20 marks), Legal Aptitude (50 marks), and Logical Reasoning (40 marks). There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.
CLAT 2019 exam is being conducted by NLU, Cuttack (Odisha).
