Ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu first woman athlete to co-pilot the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas
India’s top-ranked badminton player and Olympic silver-medallist PV Sindhu became the first sportswoman to fly in HAL’s Light Combat Aircraft, LCA Tejas at the Aero India air show in Bengaluru.
She was invited by HAL to co-pilot the Tejas aircraft as part of the Women’s Day celebrations at the air show.
She was even allowed by the pilot to operate the flight for a short duration.
Officials said Ms. Sindhu, who is 23, is the youngest person to have taken the HAL-manufactured fighter jet on a ride.
