AILET 2019: NLU Delhi Admission, Notification, Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Seats, Pattern, Syllabus, Previous Papers
All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted every year on the first Sunday of May by National Law University (NLU), New Delhi. The notification for AILET exam is released by NLU New Delhi on its website as well as leading national newspapers each year.
AILET – 2019 CALENDAR
Issues of notification: 4th January, 2019, Friday
Online application form available: 4th January, 2019, Friday
Last date for submission of application forms: 8th April, 2019, Monday
Online availability of admit card: 22nd April, 2019, Monday
Examination Date of AILET 2019: 5th May, 2019, Sunday
Timing for AILET-2019: From 3:00PM to 4:30PM
B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)- Five-Year Programme
Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 50% marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2019 can also apply.
Total Seats: 80 [70 Seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit (5 seats for Foreign Nationals & 5 seats for OCI/PIO)]. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination.
Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.
Note: One additional supernumerary seat for Kashmiri Migrants. Two additional supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir.
Admission to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes will be through AILET to be conducted at Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Varanasi on May 5, 2019 (Sunday).
Interested candidates should apply only online on payment of Rs.3,050/- (Rupees Three Thousand Fifty Only) for General Category Candidates, Rs.1,050/- (Rupees One thousand Fifty only) in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PD) along with copy of requisite Caste/Persons with Disabilities Certificate. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST Category are exempted from application fee. Duration of AILET : 1 hour 30 minutes
Subject areas and marks distribution
English : 35 Marks
General Knowledge : 35 Marks
(Current Affairs, General Science, History, Geography, Economics, Civics)
Legal Aptitude : 35 Marks
Reasoning : 35 Marks
Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability) : 10 Marks
Negative Marking: 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.
Previous Years’ Question Papers
Old Question Papers of Entrance Test of B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme from the year 2010 to 2018 are available on the counter at NLU, Delhi for sale on payment of Rs. 500/- by Credit /Debit Cards or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 550/- in favour of Registrar, National Law University Delhi payable at New Delhi.
